About Brian Leggero
It is official, we won the primary election, Brian Leggero is the Republican nominee for Mayor of the City of Rockford.
First off, a big thank you to Rockford voters! I would also like to thank my competitor Pamela Connell for stepping up and running for the office of Mayor. Rockford needs more involved citizens like Pamela. Pamela ran a good clean campaign. I respect her and admire her persistence, determination and tenacity.
Please help elect Brian Leggero Mayor of Rockford. He will work hard for our City of Rockford and lead us in the right direction.
We can do better! We deserve better!
I am asking for your support and vote.
Please vote for Brian Leggero.
The General Election is:
TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2017
early voting at Board of Elections
Office on 6th Street starts March 17th until April 3rd.
Rockford has not had a Republican Mayor in close to a half a century!
Welcome to the Official Website for Brian Leggero to be the next Mayor of Rockford Illinois. I am running for Mayor of Rockford because I care greatly about the City of Rockford (I was born and raised here and choose to live here), I am tired of seeing the direction Rockford has been heading the past years and know that we can do much better than this. I never fear the impossible, there is always greatness on the other side of impossible. Many people have been leaving our City because of the extremely high crime, extremely high property taxes and lack of jobs. We can do better! We deserve better! I do not see any of the people that have announced they are running for Mayor having the ability to make Rockford a better place. They have led us to where our City is today, how can they possibly know how to deliver us from here? They have been part of the problem not the solution.
I was born right here in Rockford, Illinois and raised by a single mother. I am Half Italian - Quarter Scotch Irish - Eighth Swedish - Eighth Winnebago Native American = 100 Percent American. I attended school in Rockford K - 8 at St. Francis Consolidated (which included St. Anthony, St. Peter and Paul and St. Stanislaus). I graduated from Boylan Central Catholic High School '85 (Junior and Senior years vocational training Auto Mechanics) at Jefferson High School for part of the day (what happened to VoTec?). I have been a business owner my entire life. I've built my businesses on my own with hard work and perseverance and that is the dedication I will have as a public servant. I am not doing this for myself or self serving or for a title. I am answering the call to public service for the people, all of the people.
I was heavily involved in the Independent Map Amendment for Illinois as Office Director of the Rockford office as well as gathered a tremendous amount of signatures so the issue could be on the ballot and people could vote on it. "Let the people decide" I always say. I was very disappointed that the matter did not get on the ballot and the will of close to 600,000 people was ignored. I participate in 100 Men Who Cook for The Literacy Council, I make a great bakery style pizza and I make great Italian chocolate cookies and Italian fig cookies that I sell around Christmas time and Easter time. I am a Certified State of Illinois Concealed Carry Instructor - I can pass a background check :-) I am a part of the very successful roll out of the Concealed Carry Act in Illinois and have trained many in our area on safety, firearms and the law. I wrote and published the handbook Concealed Carry Training Illinois and have sold many copies to Instructors all over the State of Illinois that they use for their classes and give to their students.
Also, I very much appreciate all the tremendous amount of support and help I received from everyone in our city for the last mission I went on. To get Cheap Trick nominated, inducted and to be the featured inductee for the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Together we can repeat our success, solve the problems we have and make Rockford a much better and safer place for all. We Can Do Better!
Vote for a positive change and a positive direction for Rockford by voting for Brian Leggero on April 4th, 2017. I'm asking for everyone's support please cast a vote for me Brian Leggero. Thank you. Early voting starts March 17th until April 3rd.
